When we launched Respect the Bird, we got a little flack from some vegetarians thinking that the ultimate respect would be to not eat the bird. We wanted to go on the record to say while we totally respect this, the Respect the Bird campaign is more about Thanksgiving overall, and not just about the bird. It's about being thankful for what you have and celebrating with friends, family and good food...whether that's turkey or tofurkey, we just want you to enjoy it!

To celebrate our vegan and vegetarian Respect the Bird friends, we've come up with some delicious menus below. Whether you're a new vegetarian, seasoned vegan, or a carnivore with special-diet guests coming to your feast, you can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner to the fullest with the recipes below!


It's easy to put a spin on favorite Thanksgiving dishes and prepare them using vegetarian or vegan ingredients. Prepare Tofu Turkey or Thanksgiving No-Turkey Turkey with a vegetarian gravy as the star of the show, and then add all the trimmings with your favorite side dishes. Or skip the turkey idea altogether. You can still be seasonal and serve plump pillows of Pumpkin Ravioli or savory Wild Rice-Stuffed Squash. Yum!
